A Brand New Year (2)

Well folks, we are officially a week into 2009.  What have you done with yourself so far?  Me, a little bit of this, a a bit of that.  I got tattooed today!  THANK YOU RON!  I’m super stoked, it’s much more fun to start a new piece then to work on something that’s sat idle for awhile.

That does bring up a point though.  How to find the time for that half finished project.  Once again, I reiterate, we don’t find time - we make it.  So make the time for one of those half done projects.  Be it a tattoo,  cleaning out the attic, or taking over the world.  Make some time.

Dog Gone Christmas (2)

For those of you who don’t know, we here at Gen X Tattoos are animal lovers, specifically dog lovers.  How can you not be?  They give you undivided devotion, as long as you remain a good leader.

One of my lovely fur balls decided to open some presents a little early this year.  After a few hours of last minute present purchases I came home to find wrapping paper, boxes, stuffing, ribbon, and ornaments strewn about floor.  My immediate reaction was utter anger!  But I took a deep breath and looked at him.  He sat there with his ears down, head hung low as if saying ’sorry, I couldn’t help it.’

Because of the winter storms we haven’t exercised as much, he’s been kooked up with this crazy tree and shiny stuff everywhere!  What did I expect from him?  So I cleaned up and rewrapped the presents, then played fetch, with the same old ratty tennis ball we’ve been using for well over  year.

It all makes me reflect on what’s import.  All that shiny new stuff is just going to become old and ratty.  But time spent together is invaluable.  Make sure to let the ones you love, furry and non-furry, know you’re thinking about them.

Here’s a video, to put a smile on all the dog lover’s faces

Merry Christmas!

People always are asking, How do you come up with that stuff?  Well the homage to Giger was a glimpse, here’s another.  The artist is Chet Zar, enjoy.

Xenomorps & more (0)

I remember the first time I saw the movie ALIEN. It enthralled me; sent my wee brain into a tizzy, expecting some teeth gnashing, slime covered, humanoid insect to come around every corner.  H.R. Giger was one of the first artists who name & work I could recognize.  His stuff amazes me, consistently.  It gets my brain moving, images swirling, & blood pumping.  It strikes a chord somewhere inside that is undeniable.

One of the great things about the human condition is our ability to adapt and innovate.

This kid isn’t letting anything hold him back from creating his Final Countdown. We should all learn from his example.
