A Big thanks goes out to all of you who generously donated to our charity drive for the Forbes House this Christmas! Between the help you gave and the donations from the Gen X Crew we were able to help out quite a few people and of course brighten Christmas morning for lots of boys and girls in need. So, once again Thank You All …I know its tough for everyone right now but you all still unselfishly gave to those in need and you are all better people for it!
For those of you who don’t know, we here at Gen X Tattoos are animal lovers, specifically dog lovers. How can you not be? They give you undivided devotion, as long as you remain a good leader.
One of my lovely fur balls decided to open some presents a little early this year. After a few hours of last minute present purchases I came home to find wrapping paper, boxes, stuffing, ribbon, and ornaments strewn about floor. My immediate reaction was utter anger! But I took a deep breath and looked at him. He sat there with his ears down, head hung low as if saying ’sorry, I couldn’t help it.’
Because of the winter storms we haven’t exercised as much, he’s been kooked up with this crazy tree and shiny stuff everywhere! What did I expect from him? So I cleaned up and rewrapped the presents, then played fetch, with the same old ratty tennis ball we’ve been using for well over year.
It all makes me reflect on what’s import. All that shiny new stuff is just going to become old and ratty. But time spent together is invaluable. Make sure to let the ones you love, furry and non-furry, know you’re thinking about them.
Here’s a video, to put a smile on all the dog lover’s faces

Tattoo ‘reality’ shows would have us believing that all tattoos have, or should have, some deep philosophical life changing momentous meaning. Horse-shit I say! Tattoos are about expressing yourself. Laying a bit of what is inside out for the world to see. That’s why they were always part of ‘underground’ culture in modern society, vagrants and tramps didn’t care if you knew what was inside. So express YOURself!
Here’s one I just did on a buddy of mine. An example of what comes out when the artist is given minimum guidelines. His were: “A skull and cross bones, but instead of bone I want a chef’s knife & whisk, everything else you decide.” Then he gave me ample room to do the piece, and laid still for 5 & a half hours. We’re both stoked over the outcome.
So to sum it up.
Lesson one: Express yourself, quit worrying what someone else will think.
Lesson two: Give your artist some freedom & patience.
Don’t forget we have Gift Certificates available for any dollar amount you choose which make great christmas gifts for the avid tattoo collector, and what else can u give them that they will have forever. We also carry mens and women t-shirts n tanks, coffee mugs, flex-fit baseball hats n more.
We are also collecting goods/gifts to be donated to the Forbes House for Battered Women and Children, so please remember there are alot of people out there who can use a helping hand this year and after all thats what Christmas is about …Right?
